Bali- Holiday INN Resort Baruna Bali

This is the first time we decided to stay nearer to the Kuta area, at least within walking distance. Recommended by our friends that the rooms are good.

Well, we booked the SEA-VIEW from..However, the SEAVIEW is really far away, with the big pool, the garden and etc in between the Hotel building and the SEA.

Thus, if you are staying at this Hotel, forget about paying more for the SEAVIEW as it is really nothing, nothing! Haha.. For real SEAVIEW, perhaps you can check out my earlier post on Amara Sactuary.. =)

The Grand Entrance:

Lobby:

View from the lobby:
This is also almost equivalent to the SEAVIEW that the hotel is referring..

Nice and big pool with a 'dip-in-water' bar:

Walking out of the Hotel into the beach area:

Beach bed belonging to the Hotel:

This is the Night shot i have taken from the sunbed (sitting on the 4th sunbed, counting from the left):

Further out to the shoreline:

View of the Hotel from the Beach:

Other wing of the hotel, with tables and sofa for interaction and games:
** A lot of mosquitoes!
A Ice-cream bar: Ok only.. but good in such hot weather..

The breakfast area:

The Corridor area outside our room:

Our Room:
Open concept toilet once again. =) :

Complimentary drinking water:

Complimentary shower amenities:
They are the same at all Holiday Inn hotels

Standing shower area, no bathtub:

Overall:
-The hotel is not very clean. It has really those sandy and sticky ground that those Chalet has. So the feel is not very good.
-The SEAVIEW is pathetic.
-Location: It is located at the end of a road. Walkable to the shopping area. It takes about 10-15 minutes walk.
-Quiet environment
** Definitely not worth the price of a SEAVIEW room. If you want, just choose the normal room. I guess it will be good enough?

** Will not return, will try others if want to be closer to the central area...

Studio M @ Mohd Sultan area

This is a rather special hotel with loft concept for the room, either the bed on the upper deck with writing area on the lower or vice versa.

Once again, photos are taken on a visit, not a personal stay over at the hotel.

Location of this Hotel:

Mohd Sultan area, near Gallery Hotel. Nearest shopping area will be Liang Court and City Hall area.
There are no lack of restaurants and night spots here. However, to find cheaper food like those from Hawker centre or foodcourt, it will be difficult. Nearest foodcourt, if i am not wrong, will be at Liang Court. **Correct me if I am wrong, not totally familiar with that area.

Pretty and Modern lobby:

'Living Room' area (with writing area): Look at the reflection

View of the upper deck from the 'Living room':

'Pantry area below the Stairs':

View from the upper deck:
The stairs are not too steep like the Majestic Hotel (see earlier post)

Bed Area with the Mount-to-the-wall TV:

Very small toilet and shower area:

Sky Lounge Area:

Cool Pool:
The colourful building in the background is Gallery Hotel

Overall Feel:
This hotel is very very cosy, super nice bed according to our friends. They went back a few times after the first experience. So it really has the very comfortable pull factor.
Worth trying. The only thing is the location. If you don't mind to be away from the City, this is definitely cool...

Grand Park Hotel @ Orchard Road

I visited my friends at this Hotel and took some pictures. Couldn't really pass any comment on the service and the comfort level of the stay as I did not sleep over.

This hotel is the ex-Crown Prince Hotel.

After renovation, the lobby and corridor looks much more classy and modern comtemporary-styled...

It is funny to have a wallpaper of the Lady in red right above your head (see above). Not sure what the hotel is trying to achieve with such wallpaper.

The size of the room is normal, and the layout of the room is like the one at Meritus Mandarin's new wing. (see earlier post)

This 'open' toilet concept is very 'in' now. So far I have visited more than 4 hotels that adopted such concept.

Quite comfortable marble finishes in the toilet..

Overall: This hotel has fantastic location at Orchard (beside Paragon, opposite Takashimaya).
Room setting and decoration is decent, comfortable and cosy..but it is not special.

Meritus Mandarin Hotel @ Orchard 2009

Meritus Mandarin Hotel @ Orchard Xperience Nov 2009

This Hotel is totally convenient. It is in the middle of the prime Orchard area. 5 minutes walk to Takashimaya, 3 minutes walk to the Cathay Cineleisure, 10 minutes walk to Wisma Atria and ION, 10 minutes walk to the Orchard MRT, 5 minutes walk to Somerset MRT, which means about 5 minutes walk to 313, Orchard Central, crosses a road to Paragon and Heeren, cross the road diagonally to the Singapore Tourist Centre (for the tourists) and the list just goes on and on..

This is the view from the room.. Quite good..

Facilities wise; we only visited the pool, which has very very cold water. For those shy people, you may feel a little strange as the pool area can be seen through the tinted glass panel from the Hotel lobby. We did not visit the gym here, as it is so well located within the shopping area, we really did not find time to go to the gym! haha

They have the new wing and the older wing. We happen to be able to pop into rooms from both wings and we settled down finally in the new wing. =) The design and the comfort level of the new wing rooms is very different from the old wing rooms. Of course the new wing rooms are much more cozy and comfortable. You can take a look at the photos. =)
NEW Wing:

OLD Wing:

If you like to be surrounded by loads and loads of shopping and entertainment...This is the place for you. After looking at the photos of both the New and Old wings, which do you prefer? Or you do not mind any one? Personally we prefer the New wing.. =) More cozy and its a little like Holiday Inn @ Cuppage..
FOr local, if you have the OCBC credit card (Eat @ Meritus card)..You will have more discount! Check out the deal. =)

Bali: Sofitel Seminyak Hotel Xperience 2009

Sofitel Seminyak Hotel @ Bali Xperience 2009

This Hotel is under the Accor Hotel group. So if you have the Accor member, you may catch some good deal. We were lucky back in 2009, the rate per night is about SGD$218. But now in 2010, the room rate has became nearly SGD$300 per night.

The hotel location is in Seminyak. Accessible by Cab. Taking a stroll out from the hotel along the main road will bring you to small shops selling interesting accessories and clothings. There are also cafe restaurants where you can have a good meal of western food or local balinese food.

One good thing is that this hotel has a beach just outside the 'back door'. There is a route leading from the swimming pool area to the Seminyak beach, which I personally preferred over the Kuta beach. 100 Times better than the Kuta beach. Quiet and exclusive... Look at the pictures below and you will understand.

View of the beach in the A.M (7am plus). While taking a stroll on the morning beach, you will get to see people jogging on the beach with their doggies. You can also see white horses taking their stroll on the beach with their owners. It is very peaceful in the morning and the view is spectacular.

View of the hotel and back-facing the ocean:
View of the beach in the afternoon/evening (4pm plus)
There are rental of the Sun-beds at very reasonable price. Indulge in the beautiful beach and the sun best for sun tanning.

View of the Pool:

This is the area just outside the Hotel's 'back door' leading to the beach:

The delux room: Spacious, with a balcony facing the garden

They have separate standing shower and bath tub. Good for sharing toilet purposes =)

Check out the Toilet Ammenities!!! This is real cool! Hahah..

We will be going back again this June 2010. Will definitely enjoy the stay. Will update more on the bali hotel when we came back from Bali. We will also be checking out the Holiday Inn at Baruna. So stay Tuned......

Be Back Soon for Bali updates...
