Local-New Majestic Hotel (Chinatown area)

New Majestic Hotel Experience in Dec 2008 and Feb 2009
This is my favourite hotel so far. It is a boutique hotel and they have different themes for different rooms. You may want to visit their website to take a look at all their room types.
Lobby: Very retro decorations
For both visits at this hotel, we have chosen the Loft-style room. And we specifically want to choose this room ((304) as we love the painting and the whole room feel!! Superbly cozy and comfortable.

Very sweetly, they presented our Welcome cupcakes on the table with a Welcome card. =)

This is the first time we come into contact with the 'Super' coffee machine, the NESPRESSO. And we love it! Just put in the Capsule and press a button. A nice cuppa of coffee is created!

Room 304 is a small loft room. The top level is the 'bedroom'. You will just jump onto the bed once you got onto the top level.

The 'living room' with a few big chairs. There is a tv and a dvd player on this level.


The sink is located outside the toilet, just beside the staircase.

They have a very nice shower system. You see all the black nobs on the shower stem? They are actually the massage nozzles!!!! wOw super powerful!..hahah. Really cool and refreshing! BTW, to make you more excited, they are using Kiel's shower amenities!! Whohooho....

The bed is super comfortable. You can just collapse into that bed and never want to get up again!!!! The tv is right above your feet. Where you really just laze in the bed with the Tv situated very strategically, 45 degress from your eye level when you lie down. =)

Well well well, there is this BOSE dock system which i used to blast the room when taking a shower!!! Cool ...

Breakfast area. Very simple breakfast. I feel that it is not very nice. =(



Oh right, this is the see-through hole into the Pool from the restaurant.. So when you swim pass, we can see you from the restaurant. Interesting!haha

Small Lap pool. But good enough. =) Can see rather nice 'sunset'. BTW, the view will be the Cantonment Police Station.


Yeah, a good workout at the gym. Not very utilised. =) Which is good, cos the machine will be clean and new. New Majestic is located at the Chinatown area, so it will not be near to those Orchard/Bugis shopping areas. However, Mrt stations (Outram Station: East-West line and Chinatown Station: North-East line Station) are about 10-15 minutes walk from the Hotel. There are also a number of buses that bring you to Orchard/City Hall/Bugis area. The bus station is about 5 minutes away?

The room is very very comfortable. And I love Room 304!!!! I will be back again, even after 2 visits!!!

Local-Goodwood Park Hotel

Goodwood Park Hotel Xperience in JUNE 2008

The room that we stayed in is the superior room. Its a basic room. But the room is super big.

Here is the entrance to the room:
They should use bigger TV especially when the room is so big. TV is seated on a 'turn-about' table which allow you to watch TV from any corner of the room

The Pool is nice, but a little too exposed for us, its just beside the cafe. =) But you can get a fair amount of sun tan in the afternoon.

** The breakfast is not great. Nothing special. Quite disappointing.

In a nutshell, the room is big, spacious, clean. The decoration gives a tinge of 'royal' feel.

The nearest shopping malls are Duty-free (not useful for local Singaporeans) and Far-east Shopping centre. Further down the street, there are ION, Takashimaya, Wheelock Place (All about 10 minutes walk). If you wish to travel further down to area like Plaza Singapura, just take a bus at the bus station just outside Far East shopping centre.

Amara Sactuary Xperience from 2007-2009

This is a Hate-Love relationship between us and the hotel...

Its a long story but I will cut it short;
Love because they have very nice and cosy room, nice rooftop infinity pool, not-bad buffet breakfast.
Hate because their service really sucks big time. So when we are at this hotel, try to keep our communication with the Hotel and keep our request to the minimum. Just enjoy the room and the pool.
Yes! For all the stays we had there..we develop this Love-Hate relationship.. =)

December 2009 (Count-Down):

Because of some unhappy episode, we got upgraded to the Ocean view room =) Best Room ever at the hotel. Photos Taken using Canon G10. =)

As the hotel ages, the room will get more worn out. However, ever since 2007, we have been visiting the hotel till end-2009. The ROOM experience is still great, very cozy and comfortable bed, pillow and everything though we can see signs of wearing out. Hopefully the hotel management can do their best to maintain the place.
We will still be returning to this hotel definitely for a Singapore Perfect Getaway.
